HENT stands for Holistic Education Network of Tasmania. Now, before you let the word ''holistic'' turn you off, consider the fact that their objectives include "the growth of every person's intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative and spiritual potentials".
I know that the word 'spiritual' can turn some people off too - and mean different things to different folks - but any organisation that aims to support the growth of our children not just academically but in all those other areas has to be at least half decent.
I don't regard myself as an educationalist, more of an interested spectator. But I'm yet to find a better Australian resource on the subject of holistic education. If you know of any other good ones, lets hear them.
